Leela Prendergast | Director
Leela Prendergast is a graduate of Rutgers University with a dual bachelors degree in Visual Arts and Communications. In her personal work, she enjoys drawing the figure and exploring human anatomy. Recently, she has expanded her practice to include more tactile artmaking, such as pottery and embroidery. Leela is passionate about working at One River School as it combines her love of art and arts administration. She is proud to be a part of the mission to transform arts education.
Rachel Cohen | Assistant Director
Rachel Cohen is an experienced art educator who pursued her education at SUNY Empire College and is an active member of The Art Students League of New York. In her personal artwork, she primarily works in oil paint and loves exploring the intricacies of the human figure. Rachel loves being a part of One River School as an Assistant Director because it gives her an opportunity to work with students of all ages and share her passion for art making.
Angelo Petullo | Instructor
Angelo Petullo is a graduate from William Paterson University where he earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration. In his personal artwork, he enjoys creating digitally, as well as traditional studio art. He has illustrated multiple children’s books and is eager to continue his illustration career. Angelo loves working at One River School because it allows him to share his love of art, comic books and creativity with his students of all ages.
Claudia Cortinez | Instructor
Claudia Cortinez graduated with her BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design and received her MFA at Yale University. She has exhibited her work in solo and group shows in the US, Latin America, and Europe, and has curated exhibitions at the Shirley Fiterman Art Center in NYC and the Eduardo Sívori Museum in Buenos Aires, bringing together artists from both cities. Claudia is currently an artist in residence at the Loisaida Center in NYC.
Scott Isenberg | Instructor
Scott Isenberg graduated from Indiana University in Bloomington where he earned a BA in English and a BFA in Painting. He later earned his MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute where I was awarded a Presidential Fellowship. He is an active painter that works out of Brooklyn. He makes large colorful paintings that draw heavily from post modern and surrealist histories. Scott enjoys working with his advanced teen and adult students at One River School to advance their art practice.
Tina Grammer | Instructor
Tina Grammer is a graduate of Montclair State University with her MAT in Art Education. Previously she received her BFA in Painting and Drawing at Parsons School of Design / New School of Social Research. Tina is an experienced educator who has over 10 years of experience teaching art to various age groups, from kids to teens and adults. Tina loves being a part of One River and helping her students advance their artistic techniques and grow their self confidence.
Shannon McGillick | Instructor
Shannon McGillick graduated from Pace University, receiving her BFA in Fine Art with a focus in photography. Her personal work explores digital design, sculpting and mixed media. Shannon is passionate about curating shows and enjoys collaborating with other artists to develop a safe, welcoming community for creatives to connect with across the globe. Shannon enjoys teaching at One River School and enjoys seeing her students grow in a safe, creative environment.
Libby Lee | Instructor
Libby Lee is a graduate from Seoul National University in South Korea where she earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Industrial Design. She loves to be surrounded by all art forms! In addition to her passion for graphic design, she also is engaged in acting and performing arts. Libby loves to be a part of One River School to share her knowledge and love of graphic design to her young aspiring digital artists. She is excited to watch her students learn and grow.
